"A piece of home"
I find it odd how even though I was 5,719 miles away from home, I could find peace and rest in such a foreign place. While traveling, we often joked that we found our "home away from home" in Madrid, our future-honeymoon-destination in Sevilla, and a full-body workout in Toledo.
From riding segways, to a Paella cooking class, I felt like we truly experienced the Spanish culture in Madrid. We ate the best tapas, drank the sweetest Sangria, and cultivated the most cherished relationships with each other. In Toledo and Sevilla, we found the best spots for "Instagram worthy" photos, the best Gelato known to mankind, and the what we hope to be our future vacation destinations.
amsterdam
My favorite city of the tour! Amsterdam was full of canals and bike riders, old buildings and strong ministry.
When we landed in Amsterdam, I felt an immediate connection... & I knew it was real after our meeting with 180 Kingsday. Amsterdam was a time of feeling free, feeling able, and feeling empowered. It made me excited to start my career but even more eager to see where the Lord will lead me in the next year. Whether it be ministry or event coordinating, I say,
"Here I am, send me."
berlin
All I can say is WOW. This week came and went faster than I could say, "Sorry I freaked out in Berlin..."
{This quote comes from a shirt a couple ladies bought at the infamous Primark as an accurate representation of our time there.} When I say the week went by quickly, I am not joking! The week was jam-packed with tours, meetings, and a nap on a hop on/hop off bus (Sorry, Ish!).
We visited a concentration camp, the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the German Parliament, and the list goes on! I was also extremely sick during our time in Germany (no fun at all) and we all joke about how we don't remember much about Berlin, but I am so thankful for these photos because it allows me to relive all these wonderful experiences and memories.
